About the creator

Built to make better Shopify app decisions easier.

StackFit Commerce was created by Matt Cocking, a paid media leader with more than a decade of experience helping businesses turn advertising, analytics and technology into commercial outcomes.

The experience behind it

Built from commercial performance work, not app-list research.

Matt has worked across paid media and digital growth since 2011. He is currently Head of Paid Media at Assisted, where he leads the paid media team and helps shape strategy across ecommerce, financial services and lead generation accounts.

Alongside agency leadership, he has operated independently through Infinite PPC since 2016 and previously held senior agency and in-house ecommerce roles. That experience exposed the same recurring problem from different sides: technology only creates value when the business is ready and the commercial job is clear.

01

Performance leadership

Team leadership, account strategy, forecasting, reporting and commercially accountable growth.

02

Ecommerce perspective

Experience spanning in-house ecommerce and agency work with businesses at very different stages and scales.

03

Measurement discipline

Conversion tracking, analytics and CRO used to judge what is working rather than relying on vanity metrics.

04

Joined-up thinking

Paid media considered alongside landing pages, offers, data quality, operations and wider business economics.

Why StackFit exists

App discovery is easy. Confident decision-making is not.

Shopify merchants can find hundreds of plausible tools in minutes. The difficult part is knowing whether a tool solves the right problem, fits the store's current stage and is worth the cost and operational burden.

StackFit was built around that decision. It starts with the business rather than a list of popular apps, then separates what deserves attention now from what should wait.

The aim is deliberately practical: fewer overlapping subscriptions, fewer badly timed purchases and a stack where every tool has a clear commercial job.

The operating principles

The product is designed to earn trust before it asks for a sale.

These principles shape both the recommendation system and the way StackFit Commerce is run.

01

Independent recommendations

Affiliate availability cannot improve a tool's score, ranking or placement.

02

Commercial fit first

Cost, readiness, integrations, burden and scalability matter as much as a feature list.

03

Useful restraint

A credible result can say keep what you have, replace something unsuitable or do not buy yet.

04

Explain the decision

Recommendations should tell you why an action matters and what must happen before the next one.

The standard

StackFit is being built with usefulness as the test.

Help merchants make a smaller number of better decisions - and be honest when another app is not the answer.

That is the principle behind the product.
